D.I.Y. creative spaces are fleeting in nature. High rents, sketchy landlords and loads of red tape make it difficult to maintain spaces built on D.I.Y ethos. Seriously, how many venues can you count that have closed their doors in the last four years? Probably a lot. Making it to a four years in NYC is kind of a big deal. D.I.Y. years are really a lot like dog years if you think about it.
To celebrate their fourth year existing in gentrifying Brooklyn, Pet Rescue threw a killer double header last weekend inside their cozy space. Blood Sweat and Beers was there to document night one of the party, which featured tunes from Brian Shelter Dog, The Planes, El Silver Cabs, No Honeymoon and The Royal They. Thanks for ruling so hard Pet Rescue!
