NYC Weekly Show Highlights: 04/02 - 04/08

Oh lawd! Spring is coming! I can feel it! Lookout flowers, I'm gunna smell ya! Tis the season for full-bloom show madness and this week is a heavy hitter!

Monday, 04/02/18: Gracie Mansion, Death by Piano, Espojismo at Elsewhere (Zone One)

A combination of pleasing and lovely bands from chill (Death by Piano) to upbeat (Gracie Mansion) to eclectic (Espijismo) for a wonderful Monday introduction to the music week.

Tuesday, 04/03/18: Les Lullies, True Confessions, The Daddies at Mercury Lounge

European Slovenly boys pump out breakneck punk jams for speed freaks supported by such punk speed freaks going crazy, jumping around and being all around menaces. Bringing loud back to the LES.

Wednesday, 04/04/18: The Shacks' LP Release w/ Holy Hive at Baby's All Right

The Shacks have been laying the beautiful groundwork for their mega pleasant and catchy old school lo-fi pop and the new record is going to be everything you want from these young weirdos.

Thursday, 04/05/18: QWAM, The Rizzos, Glass Slipper, Virginia & The Woolves at The Gutter

Throwing a benefit for The Trevor Project because it's 2018 and it's one thing to talk about activism but let's put our money where our mouth is! A positively startling arrangement of badass rock 'n' roll from the depths of Brooklyn and beyond, it ought not be trifled with.

Friday, 04/06/18: The Coax, Ex-Girlfriends, Low Anxiety, Radattack at Sunnyvale

Feel this shit in your bones, immediate and righteous and hip-shakin and groovy. Lots of good vibes from punks and rockers alike hangin' out together like a utopian future of rock 'n' roll.

Saturday 04/07/18: The Night Screams Tape Release w/ The Unders, Powersnap, Grim Streaker at Heebie Jeebies

I'm honestly excited for every part of this. I haven't been to Heebie's yet so that's rad. Night Screams are gunna tear the roof off the place with their caveman punk. And the support is top notch. I'm going to be slinging tapes at this one and if you find my face on the floor as you walk in, please give it back to me. I imagine it'll keep melting off throughout the night.

Greg Hanson lives in Brooklyn and plays in a bunch of bands, founded King Pizza Records, and goes to a bunch of shows. This might qualify him to write about these shows for Blood Sweat and Beers.
