NYC Weekly Show Highlights: 05/21 - 05/27

If you're reading this, you probably know who I am and that after this particular weekend, I am wrecked physically, but incredibly humbled and full of life emotionally. I hope you all had the same kind of weekend. Now to get to some dang shows.

Tuesday, 05/22/18: Acid Tongue, Sharkmuffin, Quicksilver Daydream at Elsewhere (Zone One)

I, for one, have my head in the clouds and a psychedelic sandwich with just a ravine of nastiness in the middle sounds like a perfect hangover cure (and then probable cause for tomorrow). Don't sleep on it.

Wednesday, 05/23/18: Darkwing, QWAM, Lola Pistola at Our Wicked Lady

QWAM's hitting the road and crumbling pavement asunder on this-here tour kickoff that's loud, brash and fucking uncompromising from kith to kin. I am sweating just thinking about it.

Thursday,  05/24/18: Gymshorts, Thick (Album Release), Chorizo, Lost Boy ? at Elsewhere (Zone One)

Big bill of constant DIY warriors looking to kick ass, take names, eat pizza and smoke some weed. Thick's album is sure to be a winner so get over there and snag a copy before they're all gone and you're left in the dust!

Friday, 05/25/18: Damn Jackals Album Release w/ Swanky Tiger, Groupie at Mercury Lounge

We know we're officially in the "album release" time of year when we've got two damn fine rekkids jettisoning at us in two days. Rockin' and imminently danceable, this one's best served hot so get it right off the presses and straight into your ears, kiddos.

Saturday, 05/26/18: Dad, Pseudo, Nihiloceros, Heart Attack Kids, Ted's Dead at Rubulad

A guitar attack from the pits of suburbia where everyone has 2.5 guitar solos and there's always plenty of bacon for your kids. Monster rock 'n' roll mutating and gestating from punk to grunge 'n' metal for a Saturday night that's full guaranteed or your money back.

Greg Hanson lives in Brooklyn and plays in a bunch of bands, founded King Pizza Records, and goes to a bunch of shows. This might qualify him to write about these shows for Blood Sweat and Beers.
